QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring youngsters into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. The program is divided for those aged 8 and under – with a court size of 36’ x 18’ – and for those aged 10 and under – with a court size of 60’ x 21.’ 
The QuickStart Tennis format works by getting children into the game immediately, and they feel they are part of the fun. They have a more enjoyable experience early on in the learning process and want to stay involved in the game.  
QuickStart Tennis Mini-Camp
The Houstonian Tennis Department is offering a wonderful program for kids ages 4-10.  We have two distinct levels of QuickStart for kids. We have red tennis balls that are used for a 36 foot court, orange balls for the 60 foot court and green balls for the regular 78 foot court.  All three colored tennis balls allow the students to learn to rally on the different sized courts more effectively.  Coach Debbie Ladig will determine which color ball and size of court that your child should participate in first. Learn topspin, balance, strategy and footwork. Every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. 

Red Ball is for ages 4-7
Orange Ball is for ages 7-9
Green Ball is for ages 9-12

Tennis Camps
Tennis Camps are specifically and exclusively designed for children of the Houstonian Club Members. Our goal is to help the children develop their skills in tennis.

Tennis Camp: Ages 4-16
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $250 per child 

Coach Debbie's Extended Drills Camp: Ages 4-16
Monday - Friday: 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Cost: $145 per child  

Padel & Swim Ages 4-16
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $250 per child

Enrollment: Children will be enrolled for camp on a first come, first served basis. Please complete your registration as soon as possible.

Registration is now available ONLINE. Please follow these easy steps to register your child for The Houstonian Club's All Star Camp:

3.On Left Side Panel, click on the Sign Up for a Program 
4.Select All Year 2016 in the drop down box at the center of the screen 
5.Select Youth in the center of the screen 
6.Select Tennis Camp, Extended Drills Camp or Padel & Swim Camp 
7.Select Add to Cart for which weeks you would like to register each child
  • If children are not on membership, please speak to Membership Sales
  • You will not be able to register them until they are on the membership
8.Check box of child you would like to attend 

Forms Needed:
In addition to registering online, there are a few forms that are needed before campers are able to attend camp. Campers must have the most updated emergency contact information, physician's statement and shot records.

Camp Hours:
Drop off is between 8 to 8:30 a.m. and pick up is between 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for tennis camp or 2 p.m. for extended camp. Please contact Dayron Rodriguez at drodriquez@houstonian.com for more details.

Lunch: Lunches for each week of camp may be purchased for $10 a day. Please provide from home if there are allergies or your child does not like the menu. Due to large number of children, we will not be able to accept orders from Center Court Cafe. Sign up form is provided below.

Camp fees will be charged to the Member’s account or another form of payment during the week of camp.

Tennis Camp Requirements: All Campers must be completely potty trained. No pull-ups or diapers will be allowed.

Camp Attire
Campers should be dressed in active wear, including tennis shoes. If your child will be swimming (Padel & Swim Camp), please have your child wear their swim suits each day to camp and bring an extra change of clothing.

Cancellation Policy
Please contact the Youth Department at 713.685.7912 or send in a cancellation form by the Wednesday before the camp begins to cancel your camp/lunch registration or add/subtract to registrations. Otherwise, a full weekly rate will be automatically and irrevocably charged to the Member’s account.

Late Fee Policy: A late charge of $1.00 for each child will be assessed for every 5 minutes the child remains in camp after 2 p.m. Thank you for arriving on time.
