The Importance of Learning How to Swim

Drowning is the leading cause of death for children one to four years old and the second leading cause of death for children between the ages of five and fourteen years old. Learning how to swim is an essential life skill that can save someone's life.

Being comfortable in the water is not just a skill; it's a safety measure. It is never too late to learn how to swim, and here at The Houstonian Club, we offer private and group lessons. We aim to help you or someone you love gain confidence in learning or refining your strokes to provide security and confidence in any water environment.

Once you have the skill to swim, it opens a world of possibilities. Swimming is an incredible, low-impact sport. It's a high-intensity workout that doesn't stress joints and muscles like running or lifting weights can do. It's a workout that can be started early and continued for a lifetime.
