As many of you may have noticed, beautiful new art installations have appeared across from the Houstonian Campus at Wiess Park! In 2023, the Houston Parks Board partnered with the Redbud Arts Center to bring this vision to life.
Wiess Park is a scenic 16-acre green space acquired by the Houston Parks Department in 1941 and serves as the headquarters of the Houston Parks Board.
Most of its trails remain naturally forested and preserved in their wild state, offering nearby residents an opportunity to enjoy nature close to home.
Houston Parks Board Officer Don Aron shared the idea to enhance the park’s natural beauty with art installations stretching from Woodway to Memorial Drive, sparking the creation of the Art Trail of Wiess Park. With support from the local community (including Stablewood HOA, BlueStem Equity, The Houstonian Estates, and The Redstone Group) the initial nine-month exhibition is now underway. Seven unique art pieces were selected by the committee and have been temporarily installed throughout the park.
