How Important is Hydration for Tennis Players?

The human body is made up of up to 60% water, therefore drinking more water should be a priority because we count on it for the most basic biological functions. When you are dehydrated, cells literally shrivel up and can’t do their jobs efficiently. Our body doesn’t process toxins properly, you may feel light-headed, have headaches and feel lethargic, among other symptoms. Plain water should always be your first drink of choice. Water has a better capacity to flush out metabolic toxins from the body compared to a liquid that already has something dissolved in it like coffee, tea or soft drinks. When you first wake up in the morning, we recommend drinking 8 oz. of water immediately and to always drink before you feel thirsty. Remember to drink small amounts of water throughout the day.

Cheers!
