Get The Most Out of Your Cardio Workout

While steady-state cardio is excellent for building endurance, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) has been shown to burn more calories overall, even after the workout is finished. This boost in calorie burn throughout the day can be especially beneficial for those focused on weight loss. Research suggests that while steady-state cardio may burn more calories during the session itself, HIIT continues to elevate calorie expenditure for up to 24 hours post-workout.

That said, steady-state cardio still offers valuable benefits, such as improving heart health, boosting circulation, and aiding in muscle recovery. A well-rounded training plan can and should incorporate both types of exercise for optimal results.
