Misha gave yoga a try at the age of 28 when she noticed the flexibility of her youth beginning to disappear and hasn’t stopped practicing since 1993. Local yoga master Robert Boustany fundamentally shaped Misha’s understanding of yoga with Michigan’s Jonny Kest adding a layer of influence through his magical flow classes. Tangential to yoga, yet significant, is Misha’s training with another local jewel, Nadia Stein, in childbirth education and doula support services.
In each of her classes, Misha draws from the rigors of an architectural education (Rice ’90), the roller coaster ride of motherhood (3 kids), and the practicality of Midwest farm life (Indiana corn & soybeans), to demystify yoga and mold the ancient tradition to meet the needs of her students.
In addition to teaching weekly classes, Misha nurtures the Houstonian Club’s Yoga Program, committed to offering an authentic yoga experience under the unique constraints of a fitness environment.
