Do You Find a Mini Trampoline Scary?

Here are some benefits that might not spook you!

The Houstonian Club currently offers two different formats utilizing the rebounder (mini trampoline) and as its popularity grows, we anticipate using it even more! These classes are known for being fun, innovative and providing a good calorie burn, but the other benefits you gain from rebounding might surprise you!

Some of the obvious ones are cardiovascular conditioning, balance, and weight control while being low impact. Additional benefits include:

Osteoporosis - Jogging or strength training are good forms of exercise to counteract bone loss, but may not always be an option depending on current injuries or pain points. Running on a mini trampoline allows you to take the pressure off of your joints and still strengthen your bones to fight bone density loss.

Strengthening Pelvic Floor - Monotonous, arduous pelvic floor exercises (lying on a mat, sitting on a chair or on an exercise ball, standing) can get old. This is a new way to achieve the same goal. Strengthening your pelvic floor can prevent back pain and improve bladder control.

Skeletal System - Weight-bearing exercise increases bone mass. Rebounding is especially effective at this because it increases the weight supported by the skeletal system with the increased g-force of jumping.

Lymphatic System - Rebounding increases lymphatic drainage which boosts the immune system. It also helps improve digestion and helps circulate oxygen throughout the body.

Diabetes - Exercise helps you maintain healthy blood sugar. According to the American Diabetes Association, "insulin sensitivity is increased so your muscle cells are better able to use any available insulin to take up glucose during and after activity.” A mini trampoline workout tenses and relaxes muscles allowing you to exercise effectively with fewer spikes in your blood sugar readings.
