I first heard of The Houstonian Club in 1993 when I was recruited off of the ATP Tour to play Padel for the United States. The Houstonian Club was the first club to have Padel in the entire United States and was also the official location for the USA Padel team. I started off teaching Padel only at The Houstonian Club and in 1994 was asked to be a part of the tennis staff which I gladly accepted. I was promoted to Racquet Sports Director in 2002 when The Houstonian Club was a five court outdoor facility. We grew to an eight court facility and now a nine court facility as we know it today.
Prior to The Houstonian Club, tennis was everything to me growing up. I played number 1 singles and doubles for McCullough H.S. all four years from 1982-1985 and held top rankings in Texas in juniors USTA. I was recruited and played Division 1 tennis for NCAA 12th ranked Northeast Louisiana University in which I held the record for the 8th most winning player in the history of NLU. After I graduated with a degree in Business, I played on the tennis tour from 1989-1993 with a world ranking in ATP doubles. During my tennis career, I was asked to play Padel for the U.S. in 1993. I have played in every world championship since 1994. The USA Padel Team currently holds the 8th spot in the world for Padel. I am also and have been the President of the United States Padel Association since 1997. I became the first certified Padel coach in The United States in 1995 and I am a proud member of the USPTA and have an Elite Pro tennis status with the organization.
